Filing Fees & Requirements For Legal Instruments Filed Into The Official Records (unless otherwise noted)
- $16.00 fee for the first page and $4.00 fee for each page thereafter
- Abstract Of Judgement - $16.00 fee for the first page and $4.00 fee for each page thereafter
- DD214 (military discharge) - no filing fee
- There must be a 3-inch margin along the right side or along the bottom
of the very last page to be recorded, for the file stamp information -
it this cannot be done, then we must file stamp an extra page and this
will constitute another charge of $4.00
- In order to file a document into the official records we require an original
(no copies), original signatures, and a notary/notary seal
Copies of Legal Instruments
- plain copy - $1.00 per page
- certified copy - $1.00 per page + $5.00 for certification
Birth Certificates
- $23.00 fee to obtain a certified copy of a birth certificate
- only the person, mother/father, brother/sister, or grandparents may request a copy of a birth certificate
- the person requesting the copy must complete a form and have proper identification
- when requesting a copy in person - CASH ONLY (no personal checks accepted)
- when requesting a copy by mail - MONEY ORDER or CASHIER'S CHECK ONLY
Death Certificates
- $21.00 fee to obtain a single certified copy of a death certificate - additional certified copies of the same death certificate may be purchased at the same time for $4.00 each
- only the mother/father, brother/sister, or grandparents may request a copy of a death certificate
- the person requesting the copy must complete a form and have proper identification
- when requesting a copy in person - CASH ONLY (no personal checks accepted)
- when requesting a copy by mail - MONEY ORDER or CASHIER'S CHECK ONLY
Marriage Licenses
- $72.00 fee to obtain a marriage license for the purpose of getting married if the couple has not obtained a state certified class certificate (cash only, no checks/credit cards)
- $12.00 fee to obtain a marriage license for the purpose of getting married if the couple has obtained a state certified class certificate (cash only, no checks/credit cards)
- $37.00 fee to obtain an informal marriage license (cash only, no checks/credit cards)
- The couple must appear in person in the County Clerk's Office.
- The couple must have proper identification (valid drivers license, state issued ID, or passport).
- The couple must provide proof of Social Security numbers.
- If one or both of the couple is divorced, they must have been divorced at least 31 days before obtaining another marriage license.
- If one or both of the couple is under 18 years of age, contact the County Clerk's Office for further instructions.
- Once the marriage license is purchased, the couple must wait at least 72 hours before getting married, but no longer than 30 days from the day the license was purchased (the marriage license becomes void 30 days after the date of purchase).
- A certified copy of the marriage license can be obtained for $21.00.
Probate
- $219.00 fee for opening a new probate case as a letters testamentary, muniment of title, administration or guardianship

Miscellaneous
- Civil Cases of $500.00 or less - filing fee of $192.00
- Traffic Appeals - fees are accessed by the County Court At Law Judge
- Civil Condemnation - filing fee of $177.00
- Registration Of Cattle Brand - $16.00 per brand
- License To Sell Alcohol - filing fee of $17.00
