Texas Landowner's Bill of Rights

In 2007, the 80th Texas Legislature passed House Bill 1495, better known as "The Landowner's Bill of Rights Statement." This legislation became effective Feb. 1, 2008.

The legislation requires that governmental entities with the power of eminent domain provide a written statement in plain language to a landowner regarding the landowner's rights in the event of condemnation.
