Intensive Supervision Probation is the most structured type of court ordered probation possible. It is used for the habitual offender who has not responded to traditional supervision. The intent of the program is to interrupt the client’s pattern of inappropriate and/or criminal behavior. The client must request “out time” to go anywhere and will never know when an ISP officer will be checking on them. The ISP officer’s average caseload is fifteen clients. During the four-phase program, the client is seen face-to-face by a probation officer 2 times per week and a surveillance officer also. The ISP unit consists of unit supervisor, 2 certified probation officers and 2 surveillance officers.
